A Guide for Voting by Absentee 

NEW:  You may now register, request an absentee ballot, update your name or address, look at your voter history, view a sample ballot, and much more at https://myvote.wi.gov/

This is the easiest way to apply for an absentee ballot and to register!

In office voting is open!  If you wish to vote in office, please call Peggy at 920 379 4515 to set up an appointment.  Photo ID IS required!

*REMINDER - If you have not registered at your current address, save yourself some time on Election Day - REGISTER EARLY!!!

Voting Location:  Rushford Town Hall  3413 County Road K, Omro, WI  (Located outside of Eureka)
Polling Place hours are from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.


REGISTERING TO VOTE

Application for Voter Registration

ON LINE:  Go to https://myvote.wi.gov/  You will need to send the clerk a copy of proof of residence.

BY MAIL: Download the Application for Voter Registration, complete the form and mail it to 3413 County Road K, Omro, WI  54963 – it must be postmarked at least 20 days before the election.  If this is your first time registering to vote in Wisconsin, you will need to include a photocopy of proof of residence which has your complete name, current address and is valid

IN PERSON: Register in the municipal clerk's office up to the Friday before the election. Proof of residency is required when registering less than 20 days before an election. You must bring proof that you have lived at your present location for 28 days preceding the election.

AT THE POLLING PLACE ON ELECTION DAY: If you wish to register to vote at your polling place, you must bring proof that you have lived at your present location for 28 days preceding the election For purposes of voter registration, a form of identification constitutes acceptable proof of residence if it includes your current name and current Town of Rushford address.

Forms of identification which constitute acceptable proof of residence, when they contain the information specified above, include the following:

VOTING BY ABSENTEE BALLOT

YOU NEED TO BE A REGISTERED VOTER BEFORE AN ABSENTEE BALLOT CAN BE SENT TO YOU.

ON LINE:  Go to https://myvote.wi.gov/  You might need to send the clerk a copy of your photo ID if one is not on file or upload at the website.

IN PERSON: You may request and mark an absentee ballot in person at the Clerk's Office. Call Peggy at 920-379-4515 for an appointment.   The deadline is the close of business on the Friday before the election. 

BY MAIL: Download the Application for an Absentee Ballot, complete the form and mail it to your clerk's office – the request must be received before 5:00p.m. the Thursday before the election.

BY EMAIL/FAX: You may request an absentee ballot by Email or Fax. Before the ballot can be counted on election day, the Clerk must have received a request from the voter with an original signature. (Print your emailed request, sign it, and return in a separate envelope from your ballot envelope.) This request should be made no later than 5:00 p.m. on the Thursday before the election in order for an absentee ballot to be mailed to you.

HOSPITALIZED ELECTOR

If you are hospitalized on Election Day, you may vote absentee by agent. The voter naming an agent must complete section 3 of the Application for Absentee Ballot. The agent must be an elector of the voter’s municipality. When the request is presented to the clerk, an absentee ballot will be given to the agent for delivery to the voter. An application cannot be made earlier than 7 days before an election and must be made no later than 5:00 P.M. on Election Day. The ballot can be returned by mail or personally by the agent and arrive in time for the clerk to deliver the ballot to the proper polling place on election day before the closing hour.
